Working With Me
If you are a tired, overwhelmed, and overstimulated mama, you have come to the right place! Motherhood is the toughest job there is, and often mothers are not given the recognition for all that they do. I want you to know that I see you!!
As a mom myself, I know how challenging it can be, and the sacrifices that we make for our little ones and our family. Whether you just need support as a mother, or you are experiencing more intense symptoms, such as postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, or rage, I am here to support you through that journey.
As a mom that experienced perinatal depression, I know first hand how scary and isolating the experience can feel. The fear that can overwhelm you and how hard it can be to share with those in your life, how you’re actually feeling.
Work Experience
I began my journey in the mental health field 10 years ago, working in a variety of settings including residential treatment centers, aftercare services, and state funded agencies. After moving to the clinical side of mental health, I worked at non-profits, group practices, and community mental health clinics. I have been a therapist for seven years and have served clients in both Texas and NYC. After I went through my own journey with a PMAD (perinatal mood and anxiety disorder), I felt moved to shift my therapeutic practice to support mamas. I felt very alone and had a hard time finding services, and I wanted to help bridge some of that gap. I am greatly moved by this work, and feel privileged to be a part of my client’s therapeutic journey.
Therapy Style
My therapist style is humanistic with a focus on attachment theory. I work from a client-centered and strength-based approach to help empower my clients. I am trained and certified in perinatal mental health through the Canadian Perinatal Mental Health Collaborative.
Along with my professional trainings, I also show up as a fellow mama, with the understanding that some days you feel like you’re going to pull your hair out, just want to yell Fuc* this, and throw up your hands. I will be here for you through all of it. The moments of motherly joy, chaos, frustration, and every feeling in-between.
Raising children truly does take a village, and you don’t have to go through it alone. I hope that you will reach out and allow me to be part of your village. Hang in there mama, you’re doing the best you can!!
