Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance at this time. However, I can provide you with a detailed receipt, also known as a superbill, that you can provide to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I cannot determine if and how much your insurance will reimburse you. Therefore, I recommend reaching out to your insurance company directly.

What should I expect from my first session?

During your first session we will focus on what is bringing you to therapy at this time. I will provide you with the opportunity to ask me questions that you may have about myself and my therapeutic style. We will also discuss your hopes and goals for your therapeutic journey.

How many sessions do I need?

Every client’s therapeutic journey is different, and there is not a set number of sessions that you are required to attend. Clients typically attend therapy for a minimum of six months.

How often do I need to attend sessions?

Outpatient therapy is typically once per week. However, due to scheduling and finances clients sometimes attend sessions bi-weekly (once every other week). We can discuss what is the best option for you based on your needs and therapeutic goals.

What days & hours do you offer sessions?

I offer sessions on Monday, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 10am-1pm, as well as every other Saturday and Sunday. On occasion I can offer a weekday evening session.

What is your cancellation policy?

My cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance. If you are unable to attend your session for any reason, I require that you provide me with a 24 hour notice. If you provide less than a 24 hour notice, you will be charged the full session fee. Once you have become a client, we will discuss flexibility among this policy, such as if you have an emergency or become ill. I hold myself to this policy, as well.

Do you provide a sliding scale?

I have a limited number of sliding scale spots. If you are unable to pay the full session fee, we can discuss a lower fee amount that may work for you.

* My sliding scale spots are currently full.

If you are a pregnant or are a new mother that is struggling with a PMAD (perinatal mood and anxiety disorder), and cannot pay the full session fee, please let me know, and we can discuss a therapeutic scholarship.
